About GROW RTI
GROW RTI is a student-centered approach to Response to Intervention designed to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of every learner. Grounded in the belief that all students are capable of success, GROW RTI focuses on providing timely, targeted, and meaningful support while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The GROW framework emphasizes proactive intervention, consistent progress monitoring, and collaboration among educators, students, and families. By integrating academic support with social emotional learning and essential soft skills, GROW RTI moves beyond traditional models to address the whole child.
At its core, GROW RTI is built on four key principles:
- Growth Mindset: Encouraging students to view challenges as opportunities and develop resilience through effort and reflection
- Responsive Support: Delivering targeted interventions based on data, individual needs, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Ownership of Learning: Empowering students to take an active role in their academic journey
- Whole Child Focus: Supporting academic, social, and emotional development

The Educator Behind GROW RTI
My journey into education has been anything but traditional. After spending 14 years in the banking industry, I made the decision to step away from a structured, results-driven career to pursue a path rooted in purpose, growth, and impact. Entering the classroom as a nontraditional educator required me to embrace the role of a learner once again—an experience that has profoundly shaped my approach to teaching.
Beginning as a paraprofessional and transitioning into a teaching role while completing my graduate studies, I quickly recognized the importance of connection, flexibility, and meeting students where they are. My experiences as both a student and an educator have given me a unique perspective on the challenges learners face, particularly those who may struggle quietly or feel overlooked.
This journey has reinforced my belief that education must extend beyond content delivery. Students need to feel seen, supported, and capable before meaningful learning can occur. My work is grounded in the idea that growth is possible for every student when provided with the right environment, support, and encouragement.
GROW RTI was developed from this perspective—combining my professional background, classroom experiences, and ongoing research into a framework designed to better serve all learners. My goal is not only to support student success, but also to collaborate with educators to create systems that are intentional, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of today’s students.
